This is the second track from the Gypsy Cat album. It was originally conceived as the introduction to a larger piece called "Blues de las ramblas" hence the title: "Preludio". The inspiration for the music comes from the most ancient of sources: Variations on a ground bass. The first section of the ground bass is drawn from both "Paris Texas Blues" by Gotan Project as well as Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven". The second section uses an archetypal II-V progression commonly found in both jazz and rock compositions. The rhythm of the flamenco solea enhances the graceful simplicity of the piece.
